AUGMEDI pitches at largest angel investor network in Switzerland

The Swiss edtech/ medtech startup AUGMEDI received a rare chance to participate in one of most renowned investor events in Switzerland – the SICTIC Investors Day. During the event at Inselspital Bern, our Co-Founders Cyrill and Thierry presented the newest generation of medical education solutions for human anatomy and orthopedics.

«Would you donate your entire body for medical education? »

The audience was silent and thought about this very difficult question. «The majority of people most likely don’t. And that’s a major pain point for medical universities», concluded Augmedi’s CCO Cyrill Altorfer at the 137th SICTIC Investors Day at Inselspital Bern.

The slightly provocative question was the beginning of a 90 second elevator pitch, for which AUGMEDI received an exclusive invitation from SICTIC.

SICTIC is a Swiss-based angel investor network that connects early-stage tech startups with experienced investors, focusing on high-growth potential ventures. It provides funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities to support innovative entrepreneurs in scaling their businesses.

The setting

SICTIC organizes several highly regarded investors meetings throughout the year. During each of these events, only the most promising startups from event-specific industries are selected to pitch their vision in front of hundreds of investors. Each startup then has exactly 90 seconds to pitch their business case to the audience. After that, only 4 can move on to the second pitching round, where a startup gets a total of 5 minutes to provide more insights.

AUGMEDI with strong presentations

The competition amongst the startup was tough, with several highly promising medtech companies trying to get a spot in the top 4.

AUGMEDI received enough votes from the investor audience to land in second place! This great success meant moving on to the second round and securing additional pitching time.

This valuable time allowed our team to really address today’s challenges in medical education and showing our solution to a great audience. We also delved into our go-to-market strategy and showed, how much market potential there is in the medical education industry (spoiler alert: It’s a lot!).

What happens next?

Several investors have marked interest in investing in AUGMEDI. It is now time to sit together and discuss details.

This is vital for us, as it allows for more updates on our platform, more features and more photorealistic 3D scans of the human body.

Stay tuned!
